But alot of people still do it! I think he should of got at least 30-60 days of jail time. He didn't kill anyone, but a little taste of jail would be good for him.

What a pig.  I bet you are right that this happens more than you would think and hopefully this will make folks realize that in the computerized age, records of who bought and used tags are available to law enforcement in seconds and makes them think twice. The other victims are all the other hunters in that area that bust their butts and do it right and were stripped of an opportunity to take one of those trophies by this greedy individual.

There is a neighboring land owner by our place in Onamia that does it this way. He shoots deer in all 3 seasons. It funny, he shoots a deer, then rid s his ATV home, and two people come back to get the deer an hour or so later.

we have called tip a few times.

I'm sure it's more common than any of us like to admit. It's just a shame some people feel they need to do it this way

pretty much everyone knows this is common and is the exact reason why a lot of hunters want to eliminate crosstagging/party hunting get rid of it.

You can try to eliminate party hunting or cross tagging all you want. It will still happen.

Former Big game manager Lou C. was on the radio last Thursday night and this topic came up. He mentioned the youth antler less tags and why they had to eliminate them in the west/south west portion of the state for a while. According to Lou average state wide success rate for youth is 18-20% but in the areas that were bucks only for everyone but youth youth success rate jumped to an amazing 93%!!!!

its a shame to think that some parents would shoot a doe and put their kids tag on it. But the statistics made it very clear that it was happening.

In the end all we can do is police ourselves. ...."Ethics is what you do when nobody else is watching".... Teach your kids the right way to do it and hope the other guy is doing the same.
