Heard about it on the radio yesterday.  Could help supplement creel surveys, especially for the lakes that aren't part of "big ten".  Lake Bemidji was an example, only gets a creel survey like every 10 years.

In theory I think its a nice idea, but in reality it will likely not end up providing what the DNR actually wants or wishes to accomplish. I realize the data is supposed to be kept private as in, not shared with the public, but you know dang well that people are going to provide inaccurate information to achieve their agenda. Maybe I am a cynic, but I just see it happening that way.

Yeah no thanks, I'll pass on giving out my fishing reports. 

 

There are plenty of DNR officers that spread the "word" to their buddies who then spread the word to their buddies and so on.  No data is private, unless it's the only copy on a piece of paper locked in your filing cabinet at home.
