Navionics Phone App

Hey I have the Navionics phone app and it works great. I am headed to LOTW this weekend. Does the App cover that water? Just wondering since if you want to cover LOTW with their map chips you have to buy a different one. Please let me know.

It shows the depth contours for Lake of the woods, but im not sure how accurate it is. I haven't been up there yet this year. You'll have to let us know..

Are you asking about the MN side of LOTW or Canadian waters? Did you purchase the US or US and Canada maps?

I personally paid the extra $5 to make sure I had all border waters covered.

Open the app and in the top left corner there is a search function. Click on that and type in Lake of the Woods. It will take you to the lake and then you can navigate around from there. I have the US and Canada app and it worked for me.

If you have the US only it will stop at the border, if you cross over the border you will need US and Canada. Be sure to use SonarCharts for the most detail.

Also if you dont have the upgrades Nav Module and Advanced Map options they are some great fishing tool upgrades.

Here is a little tip incase you loose cell coverage, if your phone has a internal GPS if you tap on MENU then go to the bottom click on DOWNLOAD MAP a pop up box will come up and you drag the box over the LOTW download it. The phone will use the Internal GPS for navigation with the downloaded area.

I've used navionics up there the past couple years. It is accurate up to a point. Its not the most detailed, but will get you very close.

I have us version of navionics. It was spot on for us. We were at starren shoals by garden island, where depth changes dramatically.
