lungdeflator
I am contemplating buying an aluma lite skid house instead of a wheel house. Good light weight portable option IMO. Question is: the house will probably weigh ~1200 lbs loaded up. Is this possible to pull with a 600 or 700 RMK? Or similar type snowmobile? LightningBG
My guess traction will be your biggest hurdle early in the year. Studs may remedy the traction issue.Deep snow could be tricky late in the season depending on how much the house floats vs plows.
leech~~
My guess is cooling will be your biggest hurdle with low to no snow!
BoxMN
FWIW, I pulled (dragged!) a steel boatlift off a lake a few years ago with a studded '88 Indy 400. It worked great on the lake/ice but when I had to drag it down the road, with slight uphill, it started slipping the belt. It actually pulled a heck of a lot easier than I thought it would on the lake. Different sleds (big difference!) and different weights, but it was not on skids either. Good luck! lungdeflator
Well I have an atv that would be capable of pulling the house with little or no snow so I wouldn't be using the sled in those conditions. I have been told they float ok on deeper snow, but have not gotten a straight up answer from anybody yet.
Cheers
I have a large otter sleigh that floats on deep snow , loaded it probably weighs 200lbs max. At times it can be a hard pull with my A/C T660 . Once is is moving it is good but starting out can be tough especially after fishing when the snow is slushy and wet/sticky . Many times the machine just buries itself and I have to disconnect to get unstuck . I would think that 1200lbs may be too much to move in deep snow starting from still,
