Vexilar Customer Service.

Just wanted to give a show out to just how absolutely crazy Vexilar is with customer service. Over the last year or so a friend of mine & I had bought four tri beams between the two of us. ( One on my FLX28 double vision, One on my FL8SE, and one on my friends FL22. (His first tribeam cracked after about 6months and bought another tri beam to replace it before we knew vexilar had issues.)

Recently, my friends 2nd tri beam had the red area crack. So we called into vexilar. The company rep said that they had gone with a different manufacturer to make the tri beams, and that the potting material used by this company wasn't right. They thought that they were running a 10% failure rate. Which he said is far above the less then 1% rate vexilar had established. They are now having a different company make/produce the TriBeams.

He told me that any defective tri beam sent in would be replace no questions asked if done before Jan 1st. Then after Jan 1st Tribeams would only be replaced if a recipt showed that it fell within the warranty dates of purchase. The

Long Story short, We sent in my buddies two cracked TriBeams in for a new TriBeam & ProView. Then I inspected my two TriBeams.....it looked like some hairline cracks were starting so I sent them in and had two new TriBeams sent back. They are a new style and fit into the ducer holders on the packs nicely.

Old style

New style TrBeam-looks like the old dual beam transducer......thinking they went back to original manufacturer of their transducers.

I had the exact thing happen to mine last week. Sent the cracked one in and in less than a week I received my new pro-view at no cost. I hope I like the pro view over the tri-beam.

I think these new style tri beams just came in for vexilar. Proview is nice, but I like the switch for beam angles.

When the tri-beam came out (3 yrs ago?) put on a new 22. Dunked it in the water and it was defective. Free replacement and suspect the second one is not right either.

Have had a dual beam for many years no problems.

as of right now the new style tri beam is not being sold as a replacement transducer. these are only replacements for the bad original tri beams that people return to vexilar. I do hope at some time they will offer this transducer for sale. I got my old style tri beam replaced with one of these new style ones and have had good luck with it so far. hope it holds up.

Thanks for the heads up with this thread! I called up Vexilar and asked about replacing the tri-beam that came with my FL-22. They quickly sent me a new tri-ducer after I sent the old one in. New tri-ducer works great, and I think even better than the pro-view I've been running for shallow water on my 22.

I have nothing but high praise for Vexilar customer service. I sent my FL8 by mail to them on a Tues., on Thursday I got a call telling me it needed a new motor which the tech already had installed, and done some other minor tune-up work. I gave him my credit card info and it was on its way back to me on Friday! Less than $100 and my old vex is like brand new. That is customer service worth talking about!

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
