With this past onset of winter weather in my area we could be in for a treat such as ICE by spearing opener. The weatherman says that its going to get cold and with this thick blanket of white stuff it means colder temps and that leads to what we all wait for....

Should lock things up. As long as the snow melted when it hit the water we should be good soon. If it slushed up it will take a little while longer to make "safe" ice. But the spears and decoys are getting close to getting wet!!!!

I'm a wuss when it comes to early ice until there is a solid 4-5" ill stay on dry ground, I still have hopes maybe by thanksgiving if the forecast holds

Me too and if I don't go deer hunting I will be staring down the hole at pike!
