Heater Advice

I'm looking for recommendations on a portable heater for my deer stand and for ice fishing. I have a Mr. Heater sunflower heater but i don't like the noise in the deer stand (especially the howling at start-up). I had a Buddy Heater but the wind kept blowing it out so I returned it. My stand is now slightly more sheltered from the wind and i'm wondering if i should give the Buddy another chance.

We have mr. Heaters, buddies and big buddies in our stands. They all work well.

I have an enclosed 4x8 with Plexiglas windows and I use the 4-9000 buddy heater. The stand is not air tight by design but the heater was on high and kept it about mid 50's. I run a 20 pounder with it. At the rate we are seeing deer I may use the whole tank.

I have one stand with a small wood stove in it. That keeps it real toasty! A few deer have even been shot out of it....

I've always wanted a wood stove in my stand. The smoke is a natural scent -vs- propane. But, I'm always worried it will be a hassle getting the fire started, stoking it, etc. I may try it in one of my permanent stands and see how I like it. Where is a good place to buy a wood stove at a reasonable price?

I put the wood stove in years ago because I got sick of my beers freezing on cold days. I got mine from a yard sale, it is small about 10"x12" i just use old venting pipe through the wood roof.

Right now I am in a stand. It is a 5 by 7 enclosed. 1 degree at 7:00. Turned the mr. Heater on for 15 minutes. Quickly brought the temp up to about 50. Plain and simple the heater will keep me in the stand longer!

My Big Buddy heater works great in my 6x6 deer stand.

I have a pitched roof on it and open shooting windows on the front.

I also run it with a 20 lb tank on it.

Keeps it nice and tosty and does not seem to keep the deer away, had multiple deer only 30 yrds away.

I have a stainless wood stove/heater I would sell you very reasonably. It was pulled from the cabin of a 25 foot sail boat. All chimney piping is also stainless and would come with it. Call me at 612-710-3938
