Cabelas "After Hours" Sale

Anybody else get an invite to attend this sale on Sunday the 16th? I got an invite in the mail because I'm a Club Visa holder and I'm just curious if the "employee pricing" is worth it? Sounds like you may get decent deals on clothing, especially the Cabelas branded stuff? Also food and drinks provided. I imagine there is a pretty good crowd. Is it worth the 50 mile drive for me?

That's funny I always find great deals. I got a OTTER XT1200 Lodge for the employee price of 824.99 regular 969.99, a 145.00 off seems like a good deal. It all depends on what you buy, cabelas brand items have the most discount, guns and electronics have the least amount. Then you use the 20 off coupon, and that brings it down to $804.99.....

Have a friend that works for Cabela's...hard goods (guns, augers, blinds, decoys etc.) are least discount (typically 10%-15%). Soft goods (clothes) are biggest discount of around 25%-30% with Cabela's brand being the biggest discount.

There are certain 'deals' to be had...but for the most part not as good as regular flier sales.

I saw the following somewhere about Veterans Day Pricing. Check before you go, just in case my info is wrong.

Cabela’s is giving their standard employee discount to all US military veterans, active duty military, Guard/Reserves, law enforcement, fire and EMS personnel. Discount varies from 5% to 20%, depending on the item.

Flyer deals may be just as good or better than some of the discounts, but don't forget that there are limited items in the flyers vs. getting EVERYTHING for a discount. Some things never go on sale so the card holder nights are a great way to take advantage of getting something you want for less money. Standard employee discount runs 10%-25% depending on brand and item. Yes, hard items tend to be in the 10-15% range, but most all clothes go for 20-25% off so it's a great time to pick up some cold weather gear for less. Lines are long yes, but don't be in a hurry and you'll enjoy the time there and pick up some good deals.

Well the sale was alright. Nothing great, but I needed a couple things and I was happy with what I paid. Lines to check out were insanely long. They wrappred from the registers all the way to the back past the bargain cave and boot sections. We just took our time and waited for them to die down while we snacked on the free food which was pretty good. The discounts on hard goods were a little lower, usually in the 10% range. Clothing was closer to 20% from what I could gather. I ended up leaving with a pair of Lacrosse aerohead boots, a couple shimano sienna 500's, and a neck gaiter for $160. This was with an extra $20 off that they let me stack on top of the employee pricing. Usually they don't let you stack coupons so that was nice.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
