slick2526
Whats your favorite? I have had good luck with a couple gander mountain UL reels I own. If I buy a custom rod like I am planning on I want to put something nice on it. Are most people still swearing by Tica's? I also seen a Shimano last year, I believe a Sedona I liked. DonBo
Love my Tica's for ice fishing. I've used Shimano's most of my life, but these little reels are really nice.
Scott O.
I use a combination of Shimano Siennas, Cabela's 500UL, and Clam's Genz reels. All are right around the $25-$30 range and are great UL reels for ice fishing. Smooth, few line twist issues, and they don't freeze up in the colder temps. Northlander
I have startred buying more siennas because they handle the cold very well for a cheap reel. 500 for mannies and 1000 for eyes.
srfishin15
Sienna 500's are great along with trion or president 20's!
B-man715
Siennas are tough to beat in their price range.I have a handful of Ticas, but their drag is inferior compared to a lot of reels. I'm slowly switching over to all Shimanos.
Luke_M
I picked up some quantum optix 50's and 100's last year and was real happy with them especially at $20. I didn't fish outside the house to much with the brutal cold but when I did I never had a problem with them freezing up.
