Question

Have a 90s vintage evinrude just had the head gasket and water pump done-starts like a champ when it runs it sounds great but it kills after a minute. Tried warming it up with the choke out but it will kill if you do that. You can restart it then wants choke again. Ideas?

Second what Gunner is saying. Sounds like it's sucking air somewhere along fuel line. Start from tank fitting and check for leak from there back to engine. Some portable tanks have a 'plug' thingy instead of a fuel guage on the tank fitting and an air leak here is common. Gasket around tank fitting may be letting air in. Some times aftermarket fittings don't plug on tank or motor just right or it may be a pin hole somewhere along the line.

Start with your fuel delivery anyhows, probably an easy fix once found.
