and this time of year they are those beauties that unlike Summer pop and are nearly impossible to pull out entirely. Throw in that I now need reading glasses and it's all the more fun. It's funny some spots I grouse hunt have very few if any and some spots are crazy thick.

I stayed on the main trails and didn't venture too far into the woods but did get into some thick stuff walking a few game trails and maybe I missed something (hope not!) but I didn't find anything after the 2 longs walks I took out off the old grade in crosslake area...hopefully the frost/cold will take care of them

Deer ticks appear to continue to push west across northern MN. Where I saw none years ago ... the dog is now covered unless protected.

Areas that were thick with deer ticks 20 years ago .. ie Pine County seem to have far, far less now.

Deer ticks likely have population cycles too ???
