BGrus
OK, I searched for blade sharpening and all posts were from 2009.I called Strike Master now owned by a conglomerate and asked if they still did trade in's and blade exchanges?Reply; No we do not do that anymore, just buy new blades!Question; Does anyone know of a capable commercial outfit who can sharpen 8" and 10" Lazer auger blades?Anyone in Minnesota?I just sent my two pair off to Fish.com in, Lake George, New YorkThey charge $15.00 per set with $5.00 shipping charge.I will post back if they do a good job. In the meantime please respond if you know some one here in MN. Thanks
fisherman-andy
Whats kinda interesting here is Clam now sells lazer blades for their version of the Solo Auger for $20. These blades look like they will bolt right up to the Strikemaster also. Not exactly sure yet. The only thing here is quality vs price. Remember how Strikemaster had all them issues with the cheaper blades manufactured in China vs the more costly ones from Mora Sweden. Generally if you pay cheaper the quality is less also. Im too lazy to sending my blades in to be sharpen that I just swap them out with sharpen ones from Joes Sporting Goods locally.
dan z
The are a couple shop around Mankato that take your blades and give you re sharpened ones for a decent price. New blades are the way to go though. The online bidding site has some deals every so often.
aanderud
I think Frank (aka surface tension, up near Duluth) can sharpen them -- he does the Nils blades and I thought I remembered a post that said he had a jig for the lazer blades too. Not sure, but maybe try him out.
