Does anyone have any experience in trying to get this stuff under control? There is probably 1000-1500 liner feet of it on a lake and some folks want to try an control it. The DNR suggested that spraying or using some sort of bug were the options. A permit to spray is being applied for.

Some think that a volunteer effort with homeowner type hand sprayers could get the job done. I don't know how many times it would have to be sprayed to kill it, or even if it could be effective before it seeds out this year.

Does anyone know if there are firms that would do this type of work or what it would cost?

Thanks for your time.

Tom

How wide along the lake? What is shore like? I bet a couple guys with backpack sprayers full of roundup could make a pretty good dent in it in a day, unless it is too wide.

A tank sprayer with a boom like pulls behind an ATV would work too, I think.

I'm surprised the DNR didn't come out and do it. They did that at my grandparents place last summer. Involuntarily. Would have liked them to wait until after the family reunion... they sprayed it Friday afternoon and put up signs that said to keep out of the area for several days. We had no input at all.
