Cole Slaw

Hey everyone i'm heading up north this week for a trip and was wondering if you think coleslaw will stay good in a cooler for 24hrs till we get up there. It would be the kind that is in the sealed bag from the grocery store. Then i would mix it once i get up there. I was thinking that as long as it didn't sit right on the ice it should be fine. Just wondering what other people thought.

If you mean the shredded cabbage/slaw in the bag, heck yes. Just make sure it stays cool. lay on ice and put towel over it to help keep chilled, and you'll be good to go.

Should be good.The ice should keep it fresh.If it looks like you need to add new ice just pick some up on your travels.

Yea that's what i thought as long as it don't directly on the ice i think it will fine.

Heck, I'd mix it before I went. It takes a good 12-24 hours before it's good and ready.

Course, I like the Jimmy's sauce from the bottle for my down and dirty slaw...but, hey, that's what I like.

Bring it the way it is,To freshen it use cold water and a tablespoon of white vinagar per gallon a water ,it will crisp right ou in 1/2 hour.Then add the dressing.Old indian trick!

Thanks for your guys help i leave this morning for oak island, lake of the woods. Hope the fish are biting.
