Heading to St. Croix State park

Second camping trip of the year, heading up to St. Croix state park for the weekend. Not sure how their sites are set up, but looking forward to getting out.

Hoping to do several more trips before school starts back up. Any suggestions of places that you get some privacy?

When we camped at crow wing lake, neighbor had a 5th wheel and when we tried to go to sleep, they turned lights on and lit up our camper.

Haven't been up there since the big tree blow down that they had. The pull in car sites use to be relatively private but from what I here at lot of the trees that provided that privacy are gone. The group area where more of the RV's park isn't very private from what I remember, much more open.

Are you planning on canoeing or fishing the river? They rent canoes out of the park and you can either do a 10 mile or 3 mile trip. I'd recommend taking a full day and doing the 10 mile trip. They shuttle you up river and you paddle with the current back to the boat launch in the park. Its a fun paddle with a lot of good fishing spots along the way for smallies, pike, and occasional walleye.

We didn't go fishing. We went to Moose Lake for the agate festival. Pretty crazy. But our son got some good ones.

Had a good time camping. Taking a 2 and 6 year old camping is an adventure all its own. But they did enjoy it. Our oldest asked to do it again this weekend.

Private campgrounds are not prone to privacy. If that is what you are looking for, you will enjoy the state park experience more. We like camping, but enjoy talking to/meeting new people, so we love the "busy" places!
