So the History channel keeps working the Alaska stage with a direct shot at the outdoorsman. Let's go hunt bears on Kodiak Island!

Dramatized, yes; but still more adventure than a bunch of the other junk on TV. Pretty accurate though. Of course it's easy to hook me on most things Alaska related but the Rohrer hunt on the Uganik River hit close to home. I swear they set up their camp in the exact same spot we did on a fly out salmon fishing trip for 6 days. Great bear spot - a very high density per square mile. We saw several different bears each day and a couple came by enough times we started naming them.

We didn't have a portable electric fence like the guide but it's where I learned a pocket air horn was better than a 12 gauge shotgun for changing a bears decision to come closer to check us out.

We also didn't have a Putnam gal wearing skin tight camo Under Armour body suit either! winkgrin
