Minn Kota Co Pilot Questions

Update, took it in to authorized center and got very good reviews back, excellent condition with exception of 1 bad remote and possible loose connection, everything tested out great at shop, already have it bAck on boAt & looking forward to trying out again.

When my fobs went bad I sent them in to Minnkota and they said they got water inside. I don't know how except fishing in the rain. There customer service was A plus and they sent me 2 new ones. Ill always be a Minnkota guy after that kind of service.

I was,told worn out buttons, not sure if they would replace those

Have never had any luck with replacing batteries in those fobs. New batteries and you get issues with the buttons not wanting to work. Seem to get a year and a half to two years out of a fob and then just replace it. Pretty poor design if you ask me. Up graded to the I pilot now. Copilot is going on the Jon boat.

Backup fob worked great today &so did 2nd battery, must have loose vCard connection in 1st yet but least I know motor in very good condition.

Can u just replace fob's?

I has a similar issue with my copilot this weekend. Would run fine and then just shut off and not respond at all. Turned out the battery in the remote was weak. As soon as I put in a new battery, everything worked like new. Strange how in the evening it worked great, but the next morning I had nothing but problems!

You can buy a new fob yes. Reason why I dont do the I-Pilot is I acnt get one for my power drive.

You have a PD1? Isn't that getting sort of long in the tooth?

Yes its old but in great shape and gets the job done just fine. Next summer Im looking at getting a new Skeeter or Nitro 18'or 19'er so I will upgrade to the biggest baddest trolling motor with I pilot I can get then.

Along with my 1 bad remote also discovered a bad inline fuse breaker. All wiring redone and everything works like brand new again.
