Chainsaw Chap Recommendations

Looking to buy some good quality chainsaw chaps for safety. I use a chainsaw maybe a half a dozen times per year cutting firewood and thinning trees. Anyone out there with experience on different brands of chaps they would recommend?

I have a set of Stihl chaps. I've never had to see how well they work fortunately but they have held up well.

I have a pair of Stihl chaps also and HAVE had them save my leg. I don't like cutting without them.

Can't speak to other brands but the Stihl's are comfy and work.

here is a pretty good video demo on chaps. if we had trees, needed a fire place, and chain saw i would buy the stihl ones.

I have Husqvarna ones with chopped up knees.

I have human legs without chopped up knees.

I think any name brand you would be fine.

Chaps are worth the money all it takes is one slip up and you can do a lot of damage to your leg.

Making a living swinging a saw, I never understood why anyone would jeopardize themselves by not wearing chaps. Especially weekend whackers.

Stihl chaps here. Make sure they are plenty long so your ankles are coverd.

+1 on the length statement. THe guy in the vid was showing the chunks he sawed off saying there's you ankle, yet his weren't covered. How those chaps worked is exactly how mine did though not as severe. More of a nick but the chaps rolled and stopped the chain.

They are made out of layers of kevlar and seem about the same price as the Stihls. Reviews are good on them too.

No firsthand experience, but they certainly look up to the task. Keep in mind, no matter which OSHA approved brand you decide on, unless you wear them they are all worthless.

I ended up ordering some full-wrap Labonville chaps online for $92 including shipping. Now I need the rest of the snow to finally melt up here so I can get out and use them!

I also use Lebonvilles and I love them. I wear them whenever I fire up the saw..
