Who is using synthetic oil in their 4 stroke boat motor

Now that the warranty is over on my Suzuki 140, I was thinking of switching to a synthetic 4 stroke oil. I have switched to synthetic in my small 2 stroke engines and they have never ran better. Wondering if it's worth the extra cost and the advantages of using it.

Synthetic in everything also and for years. I changed it in the spring before the open water season and then again about half to 3 quarter of the way through the season depending on the hours I put on the motor. I know, I am spending alot on oil but I do change it for the added protection, fresh oil cannot hurt. Any motor will last longer with keeping the oil fresh.

I use synthetic in everything.

Truck, boat motors, lawn mower, weedeater, generators you name it.

I wouldn't hesitate unless the cost is a factor.

Don't own a 4stroke but agree, synthetic for all

If you are concerned I would just make sure it is a NMMA FC-W certified 10-w40 oil

Here are some you should be able to find more easily.

Suzuki Marine 4-Stroke Engine Oil 10W-40 MOTUL

MOTUL Outboard Tech 4T 10W-40 MOTUL

AMSOIL Formula 4-Stroke Marine Synthetic 10W-40 AMSOIL, Inc.

Mystik JT-4 Full Synthetic 4-Cycle Marine Engine Oil 10W-40 CITGO Petroleum Corporation

West Marine Premium 4-Cycle Outboard Oil 10W-40

Penrite Oil Marine Outboard Four Stroke 10W-40

Star brite Pro Star 4-Stroke 10W-40 Outboard Oil

Sierra 10W-40 Semi-Synthetic Oil

I have used both Amsoil and Mystik lubricants without any issues.

I am going to use Amsoil if I switch to synthetic, just didn't know if I could say the brand on here. I switched to Amsoil Sabre in my small 2 stroke motors and love it. My old Jiffy ice auger has never ran this well. Anybody know of a store in the south metro that sells the Amsoil 4 stroke marine oil instead of going to a private dealer? Mills Fleet Farm does not have the 4 stroke marine oil. Thanks for the comments guy's.

There are many good synthetics out there including Amsoil. If you are going to use Amsoil the best way to buy is directly from their HSOforum. Become a preferred customer with a small fee and you get the products discounted and delivered to your door. You will save a bunch of money this way. The dealers will charge you a couple bucks a quart which adds up in a hurry. That is how I buy all my amsoil products.

What oil were you running in the Suzuki up to now? If it was the Suzuki oil, it already is a synthetic oil. At least the stuff I use is. I have been happy with everything in using this oil in my 150 and I wouldnt hesitate to continue to use it.
