Camping season ever gonna get here?

I passed a full logging truck on my way to work the other day and as I looked over I thought....hmmm campfire wood and then got to thinking can't wait to get out camping for the first time of the season. Yeah, yeah I know some winter camp, but....not here. So can't wait for the snow to go!!!!

I was just talking to my wife last night that I need to get up to the camper and sit on the deck with a little rum & coke soon, before I just quit my job altogether! The weekend camper and fishing is the only thing that keeps me going during the summer!

I even passed on this years winter trip, hand augering thru 40" of ice?

No thanks.

Not even trying to plan a Spring BW trip until I have a good idea when the ice will be out.

It sure doesn't seem like it'll ever arrive. Nice weather this weekend and back to unseasonably cold weather most of next week.

Unless we have a very serious warm-up in April, I'm going to miss my early-spring BWCA solo again. Didn't make it last year, either.

We still have snow banks that are about 5 1/2 feet tall by the sidewalks and driveway. Beginning to think it ain't gonna melt until June!!!!

I have a camping site reserved, along the gunflint trail, for fishing opener. I am wondering if those campgrounds and adjoining lakes will even be open by 5/10.

I'm going camping memorial weekend in Ely. I told my wife NOT to pack away the kids winter clothes yet. I anticipate the night time temps to be very chilly!
