Ion augers

It's gonna be interesting that's for sure. Guidance is 80' of ice per charge. Just gotta drill a few less holes when you're hole hopping to find the fish.

I am closing in on enough gift cards to cabelas to get a second battery. Once I get that, I don't think I'll have to worry about it.

If your fishing out of your truck an inverter is a big help. We can get about 15 holes out of my buddies when it has been below 0 on devils lake without charging it. The ice is really thick any where from 2 to 8 inches of clearance with the extension on.

I think a lot of people look past the small pile of shavings you get with an ION. Any power auger, propane or gas, is going to throw shavings all over the house even with a slush bucket. IONS aren't for everybody but it sure fits my needs perfectly.

I cannot say enough good things about my ION. The only downside that I have found to mine is that if you get towards the bottom of the ice, the temperature change can really cause a catch on the sides of the hole. If that happens, raise the auger, and lower it slowly back down. It's super smooth and with the extension, it's the perfect tool for bouncing around the lake. One ft of ice or three, it's worth the buy.
