With propane sky rocketing who here uses a wood stove? If so what brand and model or did you make your self? If you made one would you divulge your plans. May be building another permanent for next season and will consider wood heat.

Right now I use a quickfish 3 to explore and share a 4x6 with my brother in law. the 4x6 has 4ft by 2ft hole so no room for stove. We are thinking of a larger house for next one.

My wood stove is about 12 inches deep, 8 inches wide, and 8 inches tall...about. Homemade, but modeled after a commercially made stove. It can keep me in a t-shirt during the coldest of days in my un-insulated 5x7 shack.

The key to a wood stove is for it to be air tight so you can control it.

Wood stove in one of my shacks. Its not the greatest stove, commercial made ,but it keeps it warm and me busy. I love it.

Mine is about the same size as jamesons and I've had one in all my perms and I wouldn't use anything else. Once you get the hang of it there's nothing better. Get a good bed of coals going and starve it of oxygen.

I have not seen the Nu Way in person. If we build a bigger shack we are going to have someone fabricate an airtight one as described. Unless I can see the Nu way in person.

Mine is the NuWay and it works ok, but I will build a airtight one my self that is also the duel fuel type. I have a few ideas to work off of.
