thirdeye
For years corn was illegal in Wyoming, but the regulations changed this year. So, after 5 decades of trout fishing, I don't have a clue if there is a particular method that folks use with corn? Can anyone shed some light on using corn. monstermoose78
We used to use corn in lakes stocked with rainbows. Corn marshmallow corn it helped keep the marshmallow on the hook. We rigged it with a slip sinker so it would float about 2-4 feet off the bottom.
Lunker
I guess I would say just because it's legal doesn't make me want to fish with it or that it's the most effective thing. Assuming you would just bottom fish it or drift it with a very small weight, similar to worms. Only thing I have every fished with corn for is carp. thirdeye
So it sounds like corn is about like any other soft bait (Powerbait and the like). I was thinking the single egg hooks might be the ticket. It's funny but in the 60's I learned how to use a fly rod with a single egg hook and eggs. My grandpa's theory was to have the kids learn basic casts (like a roll cast), but more importantly...catch about 50 fish and learn how to handle a long rod and a long leader, plus build some confidence. Then he moved us to flies.
