handsonguy
So I feel I have narrowed down my choices for a suit to Striker Ice climate and the new Clam lift suit. Any pro's/cons either way? Striker Ice climate seems a bit more diverse suit with the removable liner. I had one guy tell me he thought the Striker was a bit tougher to move around in. I haven't been able to find any of the lift suits to try on.
live4chrome
Striker suit all the way, no question in my mind
Brad B
the striker suits are nice but they are bulky. the Lift Suit is not as bulky . I have both and use mine as follows. Sub Zero days - I wear the Striker.Single digit days and above - I wear the Lift Suit.the only thing I think that should be different with the Ice Amour suits ( all models) is that they should be sold as separate pieces and not as the complete suit(not able to mix and match sizes except in the Ultra Suit). this is one thing I plan to bring up when I talk to some of the management at Clam. the Strikers are sold as individual pieces. so you are able to mix and match sizes with them. Esox_Magnum
You can also mix and match the different styles of Strikers to, if you like heavier insulated bibs and a lighter coat ect...
Eric_Kruger
your kinda comparing apples to oranges, the comparable suit from striker in my opinion is the guardian. Which is a breeze to move around in. Your getting added bulk by adding the insulation and the higher denier fabric of the climate. the lift suit doesn't have the multi season capabilities that the climate does.. this is why I recommend the guardian. My first question is what kind of fishing do you do? Inside, outside, both? Inside alot I would recommend the Guardian or the predator, or if you can find an overstock from last year, the lite. IF your going to be fishing outside pretty much exclusively, take a look at the hardwater, and if your going to be doing alot of both, and want something for the boat spring/fall, check out the climate.... slurpie
When buying a suit bulk means warmth. So the warmer suit would be striker.
handsonguy
I do both inside and outside the house, but the whole goal with getting a suit is to be able to be more comfortable doing more outside. I also will use them as my snowpants for some limited snowmobiling so that I dont' get my hunting bibs smelling like gas. I think the more research I do, the climate seems like the one for me do to it's versatility. Thanks for your input.
