HardwaterHero
Has anyone had the time to test this out? Can you also explain the offset a little bit.
Blackhawkxp
From what i understand on the offset is it is designed to offset the length the transducer is hanging in the hole. If your ducer is 18" below the top of the ice you can offset the length so you get an accurate depth reading.
Woody61
I wish they could figure out what to tell people when the file will not load. Last time I had had to take the unit back to the shop I bought it and did it on their computer. Took less than 5 minutes when it works right. MN Mike
The link above fisherman-andy listed should be: m a r c u m t e c h not just marcum The ' system ' on this board is messing with the name.Just unpacked my new LX6 and I'm waiting for the battery to charge to load the update.Mike
cableguy2
Marcum should enable cell/wifi on these, would make life so much easier.

But HSO does not allow the link and changes it to marcum.com/upgrades instead of m a r c u m t e c h . c o m/upgradesTo reconfirm I copy and pasted it again and same results. See below. Do not use that link. Just go to Marcum's HSOforum instead manually. http://marcum.com/upgrades/
Up North2
Updated the LX 7 today. Took about 20 minutes of fiddling around. My system kept telling me it couldn't open the .bin file downloaded from Marcum. After retrying several times we got it to work. If I could remember the exact process of what we did to make it happen I would list the steps here but I'm not sure exactly what I did to make it work. You know how that is with computer stuff. MN Mike
Just finished updating my LX6, from start to finish, it took roughly 5 minutes if you follow the online or video instructions, very easy. Now I've gotta find time to get out on the lake and put it to work!Mike
dfeste
A few days ago I messed around with one of the copies that was floating around the net and had the same trouble with my computer not wanting to open the .bin file. I finally figured out that it doesn't have to open the file. You're just transferring it from the download to the LX7. Once I realized that it was quite easy. I just spent more time going to the basement to get my flasher than I did updating it from the Marcum site.
Redlineracer12
Finally! I'll be loading the update this week on both the LX6 and LX7.

Very easy - even for an over 60 guy.
mojogunter
I think that the guys that are having issues may not be using a 2.0 USB port or the cable isn't 2.0 compliant.
GSP4ME
Problem is if you have a mac you can do it for the 6 and 7. That blows
Redlineracer12
Tried out the LX6 update yesterday, worked great. Manually set my dynamic depth to 15 feet in 14 feet of water. Will be updating the LX7 next.
d beyer
Tried out the LX-7 update for awhile yesterday. Only complaints I have is sensitivity seems a bit much and when changing manual dynamic depth I still get the black triangle in bottom read out. Once it is set it seemed to work perfect. Even the lines on graph mode quit flashing on and off like they did before update.
AndRo
Did my update today. I'll be on the lake all weekend.
