eurolarva
dehydrate them and grind them down in a food processor. A pinch will spice up anything. Just do it outside or if will feel like an Army CS tent.
Jameson
Couldn't wait any longer, planted some seeds today. Bunch of tomatoes and one pepper variety. Brandywine, Black Krim, Beefsteak, Rutgers-select, a cherry tomato, and California Wonder Pepper. 12 each.
Jameson
What are the first seeds to be planted in the ground by everyone this year? Anything that I can plant NOW, just a week after snow melt and likely frost in the forecast?
pushbutton
There are a bunch of perennials that need cold stratification, but not too many vegetables. Was also getting the bug the last week and almost started up under some plastic, but man it is going to get cold out and do not think your going to get much ahead of the game by putting anything out this upcoming week, as most cool season optimum germination temps are in the 60's if not 70's. If ya got to do it though, would go for some leaf lettuce, radishes, maybe some snap peas.
Jameson
Well, I was given a four year old display of those little seed packets you see in stores, about 4 grocery bags full of packets. So, I am not too worried about wasting seed or money. Got plenty of leaf lettuce and radishes to try. Only getting about 25% germination rate inside inside for the old seeds vs 75% for one year old seed vs 100% for seed bought this year. So, gotta plant them a little thick, too. flipper
Things like lettuce, kale, and peas are the first things I plant. I will be out there as soon as it is dry enough.
