They can jig all they want for any species they want.   But guess what?  They won’t be taking home any “legally snagged” fish like they could before.

LOL crycrycry stop merkman please stop... i cant contain myself anymore i dont believe i have ever seen anyone twist and manipulate another persons words so much in my life... Rather than tearing down the current rules and regs we have, and the people that are true sportsmen and help implement such rules and regs. Please tell me what you suggest? open season for everything? No limit or size requirements? I am just curios what your suggestions might be.

Stab em and stack em. That is what he wants. That's why he and his buddies oppose special regulations.

Shoulda seen that coming. ...

Rally the troops.... more needless regulations are on their way.....

So where we at so far.... no winter fishing (not even catch and release) muskies, smallmouth, and flatheads....

We are doing a better job shutting down seasons than those who are against us....

Looks like the northern pike is next.....

ughhhhh.

You can catch and release smallmouth until the end of February 23rd of this year as far as I know.

I don't believe SM or LM bass should have a season closed to C&R fishing, but as long as I've been alive, born in 1970, we have had a closed season for bass. That isn't anything new.

Merk hates people who have opinions or interests that don't coincide with his.

He clearly said he kept "17 - 21" pike for eating and "videoed" the rest.

So what's the problem merk?

There was no hint at hurting the fish you target for eating. Harvesting more of these small pike is definitely a good thing. Perhaps you would even get to video some big ones on more lakes.
