okstate
I just picked up a frabill predator. I do not have a travel cover with it. Anyone have creative ways to cover it without buying a fitted cover? Thanks!
Bureaucrat
Buy the cover. I have tried. I'm also no engineer. It's not about the cost of the cover, it's about protecting everything under it. Keeps your gear dry, keeps the dust out. Don't even consider pulling behind anything without a cover. Of all the things I spent money on for ice fishing, the cover for my portable never even got close to regrets. Now an uderwater camera... Northlander
Buy the cover its well worth it. Otherwise you can mess with a atv cover and sew in a bungy cord. For the hassle and time I would just buy a cover.
Finns
Contact your local fire department to see if they have someone make tarps for them. Heavy duty sewer (sower? ) down here makes rescue tarps for us and did a cover for my Frabill.
tsande00
I picked up a Cabelas cover for mine because it was a lot cheaper than the manufacturer's cover was. It works great and has access zippers in the top to get to your gear in various areas without having to take the cover off. If you plan on towing the house around a cover is very valuable. Scott O.
I agree with everyone else--pick up the cover. It's so worth it. If you don't want to spend the extra $$ on the manufacturer's, then buy the Cabela's universal one. My pop has the universal on his Yukon and it works great. I myself bought the Clam cover for my Legend and it works great and stays on while heading down the highway and all my gear is protected.
