I found an old busted fiberglass rod in the garage and made a decoy stick for the goose. She wanted a pink and red one. First time I've tried it, turned out pretty good. It's always fun to make your own toys. Now she's got her own stick to go along with her decoys. And even if it just sits in her collection should be something she has a while. It's between 18 and 20" long and is a stiff blank so should work well.
