Kyle
I'm pretty set on the 20lb vertical stuffer from cabelas. Does anyone have a review on this product before I buy one?
B-man715
A buddy of mine has one and it works fine. He uses it a lot and did have to replace the gasket.I bought a new "no name" on E bay for less than half the cost of Cabelas and am more than happy with it. Mine came with stainless stuffing tubes, I think Cabelas are now plastic?I believe both are made overseas?
leechlake
we bought a new one before Christmas and had zero issues in the one run of making Swedish potato sausage. I had a different horizontal type that kind of looked like a big cow horn and that style doesn't work as well as the vertical for physics reasons. When you are pushing down rather than horizontal it works better. We did discuss bolting it to a heavy piece of butcher block in the future. charliepete
I have the 20 lb cabelas model. The gears are bit thin and it's easy to shear the gear off at the end of the crank if you aren't careful. It also leaves a heck of a lot of meat in the bottom. I think there are better stuffer's out there for the money. I would look at LEM and TSM.
Mike89
2nd LEM products
vister
Agree on the amount left in bottom. It's irritating. My cabelas 30lb stuffer prolly leaves 2lbs behind. If doing sticks, u have to add water to make stuffing easier, otherwise too much stress on gears
Kyle
I ended up buying the 15lb kitchener from northern tool. It looks like it is literally the same stuffer as LEM with out the sticker. I called LEM and they told me their stuffers are made in China, and they wouldn't tell me anything else. Makes me feel like I would be wasting my money on the name.
