How long will crappies stay good in the fridge?

I caught some crappies today and cleaned them up. How long will they last in the fridge safely before I would have to cook them up?

I'm not sure how long till they spoil, but if it was me I would want to cook them or freeze them in about 3 days.

Think the FDA type people recommend 2 days. I have pushed it to 3ish, but that bowl starts to get a little "milky" ....at which point I definitely cook it on the "well done" side........

if u want them to taste great, no more than 2 days

if you don't mind questionable, no more than 3 days even if from the store

if longer, then freeze and re thaw when ready but recommend using then for cioppino (Spanish seafood stew) boulibasse or other seafood stews/soups with a pinch of tomato or wine product so it wont be too dry or fishy

I would also have to say that three days is all the long i would go otherwise just freeze them. You hate to take a chance.

I ussually leave them in water in the fridge for up yo 3 days on a rare ocassion I've gone 4 just to get enough fish to fill a vacume bag if fishing is slow!!
