Sand Burr
Great tip! A new spark plug and freshly mixed non-oxy gas will go a long way!
rundrave
I winterized my old jiffy model 30 this spring with full tank of gas etc. went to start it the other day and there was no fuel in it? Added more and watched it drip out the bottom. Fuel line had dried and cracked over summer. I freaked thinking something would be dried out or the carb wouldn't run right. Bought a few inches of quarter inch fuel line and added some gas. Sure enough it started first pull.

guyonacouch
My Jiffy was handed down to me from my late grandpa - pretty sure it's a 1968. I just retired it last year from my every trip auger, but only because I was getting tired of how much gas it leaked when traveling and I also couldn't find an extension for it. It still runs like a champ and it starts in less than 3 pulls. I don't think my new auger drills much faster than my old Jiffy, but I no longer worry about the single handle swinging around and smacking me in the shins!
