2006 Chev Silverado 1500 Drivetrain Noise

Recently I noticed a low tone growling or grinding noise coming from the front when I am veering left, such as when accelerating on a highway on ramp cloverleaf. I thought it was likely a wheel bearing so I changed the left front hub assembly. It seems to do it when the left wheel is loaded (turning left) and only when going 40 mph or more. At first it wouold stop when the whells were straightened out or turned right but now it seems to be getting worse and seems to continue even after straightening the wheels.

I was wondering if there is a way to check if it is a CV joint on the axle shaft without having to disassemble the joints. I don't have the tools to reseal the boot. I also found a TSB for replacing the front differential case due to similar symptoms. God, I hope not! But how would I check/confirm if this is the problem?

Isn't it the right front that is loaded when turning left? Or am I as confused as usual?

It's probably the right side hub assy. Jack it up and check for looseness, or roughness when you rotate it.

If it's bad enough that you can hear it going straight it is bad enough to hear or feel by grabbing onto a front end part, and spinning the wheel by hand as fast as you can.

It was the right front hub assembly.
