They flicker, but they always have. I did find out the battery is shot and in turn likely shorted out the voltage regulator. Will have to replace both and hope that takes care of it. I looked online and have the diagram of where the voltage regulator is, anyone know how accessible it actually is? Are there any aftermarket places to get the voltage regulator? Its 160 from the dealer.

A loose or bad ground will also cause voltage spikes that can and will kill lights. When the lights are working do they flicker or pulse?

Like Mac said do they flicker and you said they do and have always done it. They Shouldn't flicked and because its always done it just means the problem has been there all along.

**Correction**, they will only flicker when its in idle, they have always done this. I believe it is to do with the flywheel being undersized if I recall correctly. The gauges, will not read until the motor hits 3000 RPMs. And that is now when the lights are blowing.

I would suggest you purchase OEM on this part. I and others I know have had more bad experiences with aftermarket voltage regulators than good. They seem to make handwarmers too hot and other various quirks. Online parts house can get it for a few bucks cheaper, hsolist has them pretty often as well.

Apparently this sled has a special voltage regulator that only crosses over to a grand touring 600 and 700 from 2000-2002, thus there are no aftermarket and a salvaged part is hard to come by. I didn't have any luck finding one. I ended getting an OEM one from Ski Doo and with the new battery the sled is up and running....I should say was!. My fear of putting a bunch of money into the sled and have something go wrong came true. My brother in law was riding it last Saturday and spun a bearing and she locked up.....
