Cost of asphalt

I'm considering building a new place near Zimmerman. It's pretty much all sand. I'm trying to get a ballpark figure on the cost of an asphalt driveway. I'm assuming it's priced per square foot. I know there can be variables, but I have no clue what the cost might be. Thanks.

Not sure on exact cost per square foot but my brother in-law just got his re-done they ripped all asphalt out and put new stuff in it was right around $2200 which I didnt think was too bad he is located in Chaska and his driveway is your average 2-stall garage driveway.

To give you a rough idea, I just built and had one put in earlier this year. All sand in our area. The driveway is 125' long and 33' wide near the house/garage area, and I think around 14' or 16' wide for the rest out to the road. Final price for us was around $5500 if I remember correctly, might have been just over that though.
