Ice 5 inches thick in SWMN I heard

There was a guy fishing on mountain lake last night said he had 5 inches everywhere he drilled holes

I found 3" - 4" Sunday afternoon on several lakes in the area. After the temps last night I would imagine most are around the 4" mark but definitely still checking often as I saw open water in areas Sunday as well.

I heard bigham Lake has good Ice but the point has a little open water. Im just wondering if it would be worth going out this weekend? Anybody think fish will be bitting in this cold front?

I did some fishing on several lakes Sunday and plan on going out several times this weekend. If you hear of anything going in the Mountain Lake area let me know.

yea, you guys are lucky/fortunate.....I was passing through the area last weekend on 169 and some of those lakes looked pretty tempting and decent down there, made me wanna jump out of vehicle and test em a little, my backyard lake NW metro just started freezing over on sat & barely had an inch on sun, looks like you guys had much more with the snow front that moved through on thurs.

I checked Okabena, Fulda, and East Graham Sunday. all had 3 plus inches. Okabena had close to five then and i'm sure there's more now.

Going to make more tonight with a low of three. The last half of next week is going to be cold also. Time to get serious.

Talked to a guy at fleet farm and he said there was some open water around has well has 5in ice. So didn't wanna chance it in the dark.

I went the on Wednesday night on the Des Moines River hear in Windom and had 4-5 inches of good Ice But didn't get a single bite.

I just got word from the Spee Dee driver that there are houses out on loon by Lake crystal. Might check that out on Sunday night.

5" of ice out in big lake today good ice, lots of cracking once the sun came out in the afternoon which is typical
