Waiting period after buy license?

I know this has been talked about before but cant remember what was said, if you buy a license today do you have to wait 2 days to hunt or was that changed? My dad bought his today and the guy at walmart said he cant hunt till Monday.

If you buy it today you can use it tomorrow. The two day waiting period goes into effect after the season starts.

I am willing to bet that today is the biggest day for sales of deer licenses. Since the season hasn't started the waiting period would be silly. The waiting period is there to make sure you don't shoot a deer then go buy the license.

I'm sure you're referring to a firearms license but at this time there would be a two day wait to use an archery license.

A walmart clerk sold my daughter a bonus tag for a lottery area yesterday because the ELS said she was eligible. I told her that's because she bought an A license and could use it in other areas but not her lottery area. She went back and got a refund.

Yea I bought my tag on Monday and the guy at Gander asked if I wanted the tag for the already in progress season or the 3b season. I stated that it was a few more days till the season starts and he stated he did not even know what the date was on Monday. Go figure that is the great GM. Hope Cabala's makes them go away.

Good point! I guess I made an assumption that could have been incorrect.
