I got a question. I got a doe tag this year. However I wont be able to hunt opening weekend. My buddy wants to use my doe tag on opener. Is this legal? We only want one deer between us.

No, you are implying that you will not be in the woods as well to party hunt, therefor it is illegal. If you were in the woods at the same time hunting together it would be ok

Remember all unused deer tags should only be with the person whose name is on the tag. I believe (could be wrong) that even if your buddy was simply hunting with your tag in his pocket he would be doing something illegal.

Yep, not allowed by law. But plenty do it each year. Wife, mom, MIL, girlfriend are all of a sudden party hunters. Would be interesting to track the number of longtime hunters that suddenly stop when a permit area goes from Lottery or HC to Managed or Intensive.

Clown color, he is not party hunting if the friend is not in the woods with him. He mentions the fact that he will not be hunting on opener and his buddy wants to use his tag. That is not party hunting. His buddy might as well go get a tag for his wife or girlfriend if he is going that route.

In order for it to be party hunting everyone has to be in the woods hunting. I can't be sitting in the cabin then get a text saying my buddy got one and run my tag out there. I'm not a fan of party hunting. Use your own tag.

No party hunting of YOUTH doe tags? Well, at least not between adult and youth, not sure about between youths.

...so many reasons youth tags should not even exist.....
