Cab Filters

Recommended Posts

Not all new cars have them. I don't recall ford trucks having them in general. Some of the Chevrolet offered them as an upgrade. Toyota started in 2008 I don't think dodge has them either. The only fords that typically have them are the Taurus, and the minivan. Otherwise the rest of the models the spot is there but there is usually not a filter in the spot.

Airjer, do you recall offhand if a 98 Malibu has one? Smells a bit musty and wondering how I might change/fix that. I don't have shop manual. thanks for any thoughts. (oh yeah, how about a 05 trailblazer..?... thnx.)

No and No. The way you can tell on the GM sedans is buy looking at the cowl, some will have an access door, others the cowl will be two separate pieces. Remove the passenger side of the cowl and the filter will be underneath.

For the musty smell swing buy your local auto parts store and pick up a vent cleaner. You will spray it into the cowl with the blower on. It will kill anything that is living in there.
