Propane augers

Love my pro 4 and if the pro 4 lite drills like the regular one I'll be looking to make the switch. Never had any problems in the cold but not sure if it was below zero. Keep a tank warm when go out and you shouldnt have any problems. Even if the tank is cold I don't know that you'll have problems. Mine fires on pull 1 or 2 once its warm every time. Maybe 3 or 4 pulls first thing in the morning and then you're good to go. I think the clean burning propane will make for a long lasting auger but time will tell. Loving the fact that I won't be changing any old, stiff, leaky gas lines. They are the real deal, thats's for sure.

We had a morning last year on Red when the car thermometer said minus 33 degrees on the way out at 6 a.m.

Couldn't get her to go that morning (Jiffy pro 4) ... or the big buddy heater:) Luckily we had a sunflower backup heater, and after warming the buddy up we got it going, and same with the auger. Thats the only time in 2 full years it's failed me.

I was thinking about getting the Pro 4 Lite this year until I found out the Pro 4 is the auger which has STX or Stealth type blades on it. The Pro 4 Lite has Ripper blades according to a friend who sells them. I think it would be worth the extra weight to have the STX blades.
