Rick G
I found this odd looking rod in my brothers garage this week. Does anyone have info on this. Handle is plastic and polished cast, so I'm guessing it's from the 60s-70s maybe... Thanks for any info I think it's pretty cool, going to clean it up and hang it in the man cave or the wheel house

Bobby Bass
I think you have a vintage "Stub Caster" fishing rod, you can do a search for more info on it..
DTro
Nice find Bobby Circa 1949
aanderud
Dude, 6 bucks in 1949 is quite a lot of dough. Inflation calculators put that at roughly 55-60 bucks in today's dollars. WITHOUT a reel.
Rick G
Thanks for the info I figured it was an ice rod for sure, couldn't imagine trying to cast this thing It's quite a bit older than I thought, and that was a good chunk of $$$ back in 1949 for a fishing rod

Greenhornet84
Seen an article on these in fur fish and game a couple years ago. The author used them to get into brush choked trout streams. Small castable and tough.
