ctisdell
So I'm in the market for an auger extension for my strike master. They offer 2 sizes. Which do you have and why?

dan z
I have the shorter one as I don't travel to the northand. I use mine after 20" of ice so I don't have to bend over while drilling under a spot.
CaptainMusky
I bought the stainless steel quick coupler with the extension build into it at the St Paul ice show last year. This way, the extension is always with you. The added length created by just the quick coupler itself will eliminate the need of an extension most of the time.Just make DANG SURE YOU GET THE RIGHT ONE!Or your drill will loosen and go down the hole. I love it!
Brad B
So I'm in the market for an auger extension for my strike master. They offer 2 sizes. Which do you have and why? I have both their 10 inch extension and their 12 inch extension. I got a good deal on both a few winters back and got one of each just to have them if needed. only have ever had to put the 10 inch on once. Eric_Kruger
ive fished all over the state from LOTW to AL lake and i can say although I do own the 12" extension.....I have NEVER had to use it. Came close back in 09 on blackduck, the motor was right on the ice when it would break through. But with the milder winters we have had the last ten years I have never needed it. low277
I picked up a 12 inch one at the end of last season, after drilling a few dry holes and using a shovel, axe and a spud to finally get through on LOW. Good thing the guy next to me had a spud I could borrow. ( I need to get one of them also )
McGurk
Get 2) 12's if you are worried. The 20" is an all or nothing extension, and more for a permy house scenario. I have 2) 10" ext's that I picked up cheap from SM but have never needed more than 1. I don't get to the big waters, though, and would have both on hand if I did. Northlander
Get the big one your better off too long than a inch or 2 short. Not that I have ever experienced that. LOL.
