mnguy152 Posted October 7, 2013 Share Posted October 7, 2013 I got a problem I have this entry way closet that got a mold / moister issue. to get rid of it last year i keep the door open with a fan on. But now I have it the closet with the sheetrock off. So what should I look for or any tips. The only thing i can c that the insulation didnt fill the gap all the way to the studs. StillwaterAaron Posted October 7, 2013 Share Posted October 7, 2013 Assuming the wall is exterior and you have opened it up all the way you could get new insulation and put a vapor barrier in to prevent moisture from that one wall. There must be a reason if that is the only room that gets the mold. What is above the closet? If it is a roof then maybe there is a leak that is coming down the wall.There are a lot of ways for moisture to enter a home and tough to pinpoint issues without knowing the whole layout of the house. JeremyCampbell Posted October 7, 2013 Share Posted October 7, 2013 I would check outside too.I run in to this once in a while in homes.I would check siding,any trim molding,brick gaps or attic.Gaps in exterior can bring moisture .Give it a hard look.
