Marcum vs aqua view?

If I recall when the Aqua vu 760cz came out it had the best Camera on the market. I see that model is discontinued now.

Any particular models you are comparing? Do you need recording ability or just want to output the display on a TV in your wheelhouse?

I doubt Aqua would discontinue that model. That one is in high demand!

Seriously, there are NO comments on this?

I have used a micro original black unit & the AV micro Plus with DVR. I liked both units. I like the fact on the Aqua Vu Micro plus DVR I can shut off the IR & record. The sun shade helps out a ton too. This is a very handy unit. Plus, if you have young kids they stay fishing with you. Worked out very well. It has helped me catch fish. You see when the fish sucks in you bait & you set the hook. I have a hard time now fishing without a camera! Sorry I have not used a Marcum camera. I know there flashers are nice. I have had great experience with my Aqua Vu's thats the brand I will stick with.

I have the old Marcum VS560. Before the LCD screen came out. It has reading of depth, temp, and direction on the screen. Great for viewing in the shanty but for hole hopping and checking out holes I would have to say that Aqua view micro is the way to go. Camera built primarily for the hole hopping tournament ice angler.

The Marcum's make a nice color camera though, just too bulky for my needs.

I have an old Aqua Vu and I like it but I know they have come along way with the newer cameras. The one feature I would not do with out is the on screen direction. Even my camera has that. The next thing is camera size. The big screens are great for looking at but I pull my stuff out so the micro is the next one I'm looking at. I'm not sure if that can be hooked up to a big screen in a wheel house but other than that they seem nice. Even my old black and white camera will show me when to set the hook and that's l you need.

I bought a Marcum last year, I don't even remember the model, but it was color screen, had the depth and directional arrow built in. I didn't know if these features were worth getting but after having them I think they are great. I'm not a big fan of camera for eyes, but find they are awesome for crappie. My fishing buddy used my camera a few times and decided he needed one too. He bought the aqua view, he fished with it for a week and returned it for a Marcum. We both liked the Marcum better. And although he had the directional arrow option on the aqua view it didn't work on the unit he bought. I also like having the remote for rotating the camera.

Guys,

My research in full size systems shows aqua-vu still is offering the best optics available in their 760cz or 760c with the marcum vs825sd a close second. The vex cameras are using optics that are well behind the curve for top of the line underwater cameras.
