I have stated many times the most fun thing you can do with your clothes on is fish beds for bass.

Well I will go on record as saying the second most fun thing you can do with your clothes on is throwing walk the dog baits over deep, 15 to 20 feet, weedlines.

Got into the Largemouth on Saturday morning. Throwing a Zara Spook and a Lucky Craft Sammy.

Nothing huge but a bunch of 14 to 18" fish.

I have never seen that but then again I never tried it confused Sounds like a great time!!

Topwater bite was going for my friends and I yesterday. We had some great action on buzzbaits in 3-6' of water.

Sounds like fun. I haven't been on a lake with a 15-20 foot weed line in quite a while. I haven't thrown a spook in a while either. I had a lot of luck with one a couple years ago then some other bait must have got my attention. I have been tossing a 6" lunker punker around a bit this year with limited success. It's a different animal. It's definitely feeling like topwater time.

Amazing how far they'll come up for a walk the dog bait isn't it?

I know people usually think mid-summer for topwaters, but for me the best topwater bite of the season is just starting. Buzzbaits and WTD baits when the water is between 60 and 50 can be just killer on big fish.
