Baiting on Public Land (RANT)

Recommended Posts

My general rule of hunting public land, if I am seeing hunters or sign of other hunters I am not working hard enough or going far enough in to get away from them. If someone moves into an area I hunt I find a new spot. I don't want to see or be around anyone else, its not for everyone but that is the way I like to hunt.

Your seeing more people put stands up close to others in trying get you to move.Turkey hunting this year I had two people set up 50 yards from me after I was already set up and they did not call once. They let me call and when I got a turkey coming in they shot it.

Also in some areas public land is limited.

No I just stood up and stared there way, they picked up the turkey and left right away. That was in the first 15 minutes of my season,of which I got in my blind not quite a hour before.

I did get a jake the fourth evening of my season.

I just don't understand some people,be it deer, turkey or whatever I would never do that to anybody and no animal to me is that important to move in on somebody deliberately.

They did not pre-scout the area because there was still close to 18 inches of snow on the ground last year and I was the only one for a four+ week period in that area.

I snowshoed in opening morning, they parked their car next to mine and than stepped in my snowshoe tracks all the way.
