Hillbiehle
I'm going to attend the NHRA for the first time. Does anyone have any recommendations for a first time attendee? I'm debating on paying the extra price for the reserved seating....or is there better options that I'm not aware of. I've heard that in Indianapolis, the better seats are by the fence, but I'm unsure if they allow that at Brainderd. Any guidance or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you. harvey lee
When I have gone there, I have always paid for the reserve seating.Since this is your first time, make sure to hit the pits when they are working on the cars between races, one can see alot.Have fun, should be a great race as always. leech~~
Oh, and if you have never been there before watch out for all the things that can run you or the kids over if you bring them. Dragsters, Mopeds, Golf carts, Pit bikes, you name it they aren't going slow! Have Fun!
MN Mike
I too would spring for reserved seating, it's just easier, we tried to sit about 1/2 way up the stands and closer to starting line. We would also catch the view from the staging area but I know thats gotten pushed back quite a ways now but it offers a different perspective. You'll have a blast!Mike
Eric Wettschreck
I have not been there for many years but if it were me I'd be doing what ever it took to get as close to the starting line as possible.Depending on how your hearing is, or if you're bringing some kids, you may want to bring some ear plugs along. Myself, I'm half deaf so it doesn't matter anymore but these fellas are LOUD!!!!
Hillbiehle
Thanks for the answers. I'm taking my 19yr old newphew who is German. He hasn't been to America since he was 6. He loves formula 1 racing, etc...so this should be a great expereince for him as I don't believe they have anything like this over there. I will plan on camping there from Friday thru Sunday. This might be a dumb question, but are you allowed to bring coolers in the grandstands like some racing events?

I would be going but since my Son-law is racing and has a new born, GP & GM get to watch him this year at the camper! No half smily/frown face icons!
