That rule still bugs me. It would be nice to accomodate both on trails that could transport you to a remote lake. But, them's the rules.

I'm guessing that snowmobiles running too fast on uncompacted trails tear it up worse than any ATV would.

I don't mean to be an one-who-thinks-I-am-silly, but does this apply to trails on a lake that have been (apparently) randomly made by snowmobilers? Or is it more for established snowmobile trails over land.

No, not lakes with bar-run trails. Just state administered trails. Now, there are some trails that cut through lakes, and I don't really know the rules concerning that. I'm not trying to be a renegade, but I wouldn't hesitate to cross them on a lake if they were between me and my destination.

Just wanted to remind everyone that after December 1 ATV are NOT alowed on snowmobile trails. All they do is rip up the trail. Thanks guys and think ice!
