sparetime
My son is left eye dominant and left handed and wants to get a bow. he is a small 49" 8 year old. I have been to a few shops, looked at the mission craze and the diamond infinite edge. Not all of the youth bows are available in left hand.Anyone ever used any of the following and could give me their opinion?Mission Craze $450 packageBear Apprentice II $279 packageDiamond Infinite Edge $349 packageI know the Craze will work for him, but it is also the most expensive. If I knew that he would stay interested in archery until he was old enough to buy his own bow, I'd get the craze.I believe a Mathews Genesis is a possiblility also. I can get a package on hsolist for about $199 or so.Any advice will be appreciated.
Archerysniper
The Diamond is a great bow.
NELS-BELLS
My son has an older Diamond Edge, lefty, that he bought used at a pawn shop a few years back for $225. He is 15 now and has killed 2 deer with it so far. I like that the draw length and poundage has such a wide adjustment range. He won't need another bow for a long time. He wants to upgrade the rest and sights this year.I was impressed with how quiet it is and he said it is very smooth to draw and shoot.Nels
Powerstroke
All of those are good bows and will be great for your son. The Genesis will serve as a great beginner bow, but it is not something he could transition to hunting with. Both of my daughters started with a Genesis bow. Its great for archers of every level. When my daughters got older we bought a Mission Craze. I feel like it cost less than that but its been a couple years. The Craze is an awesome bow built on Mathews technology with the amazing adjustability very easy to work on at home.We love the Mission. Shoot them all and pick the one that works best. St_Croix_Banks
I was faced with the same decision for my 9 yr old (petite) daughter. I recall when I looked at a diamond infinite edge they didn't have a lefty. Agree the apprentice is great for beginners and NASP. My daughter expressed interest in hunting (she sits in blind with me) and so I went with Mission Menace. She loves it, comes in cool colors and is very adjustable---and she can grow with it. More money yes, but it will last her years. Also like the lifetime warranty of Mission/Mathews especially for kids who can be hard on equipment.
