Navionics HotMaps Lake Maps Canada

Has anyone had experience using the Navionics HotMaps Lake Maps Canada for navigating Lac Seul? On the Navionics web site, Lac Seul is one of the listed lakes. But it is not on the list for the high definition maps. Dont want to spend $150 and find out it has no detail on depths, etc.

Search navionics web app. There is an interactive map you can look for coverage and judge for yourself if its worth it.

Thanks for the info on the Navionics web app. Unfortunately it does not let you zoom any closer than 5 miles anywhere in Canada. Must not want us spying in them. . But I do like that app for looking at MN lakes.

I have the 06 Navionics for Canada. It is very helpful on Lac Seul but is not high def and has some inaccuracies so you still need to be cautious.

The Navionics North Premium also has Lac Seul on it as well as quite a few other lakes in Ontario.

It has 10' contour lines and shows a few hazards. I thought it was handy because it would at least give you shoreline and names of islands and bays.

Would I buy this just for Lac Seul, no. But if you buy the North chip you at least get a bunch of lakes in MN and WI as well.

X2. The north covers basically the popular lakes in the area that the canada chip covers with the perks of the midwest included

Do not trust any of the map info on Lac Seul other than the motor route and the shoreline outlines. It is not accurately mapped and we have found tons of hittable rocks and reefs in the NE section not found on the map. Some places show 60-80 feet deep and you can see a tree sticking up. If you get off the motor route take it easy and map your own safe routes and hazards.

Stay tuned Navionics has released SonarCharts for Canada you will find cartography greatly improving, SonarCharts is available on Nav+, Nav Updates and Hotmaps Platinum
